The Institution of Data Scientists and Analysts is a professional and membership-based organization for data scientists, data analysts, data engineers, academics and individuals who show interest in the field. The Institution serves its members, develop and advance the profession of data science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Analytics, increasing diversity, and advancing ethical data science in Nigeria, Africa and across the globe.
The Institution of Data Scientists and Analysts is committed to supporting the data science profession with practical resources for data professionals while improving the practice of data science, science and establishing model ethical codes. IDSA provide a platform for our members to share insights and expertise, collaborate and build networks in the industry and to foster innovation in the sector. We are fully supported in our mission by leading organisations in the public and private sectors. Corporate member organisations can ensure their staff members are kept fully up to date on new developments in the sector by attending our Continuous Professional Development courses and programs.
All members will also have access to analytics training programmes designed around members’ specific training requirements. We host quarterly networking events and user groups so that analytics professionals can make new friends and build contacts in the field. All our events except otherwise indicated are free of charge to members including corporate bodies. Our organisation works with government at all levels, corporate bodies and academia to promote cooperation, research and employment growth in the data science and analytics.
We support career development and skills building through our free courses for young women and men in partnership with international organizations in the fields of data science, software development, big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning and information technology. The Institution carries out national research and publicise our results finding.

If you are motivated to learn and have attended formal education in the past you can still get into data science. The first step is to start learning to code in python through our online pre-work, which takes about 40 hours before starting the formal training.
